School health project

Published on: 24 Jul, 2019

The high prevalence of communicable disease coupled with the increasing prevalence of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) in Bangladesh poses the challenge of the double burden of disease. To overcome this disease burden, Global Public Health Research Foundation (GPHRF) and National Center for Global Health and Medicine (NCGM) is implementing the School Health Project in several secondary schools. The main aim of this project is to improve general health and address NCD prevention through health promotion and healthy lifestyle factors modifications by educating school children, their parents and school teachers. A booklet on “Non-Communicable Diseases: School Health Project” is developed and distributed to school students, their parents, and teachers. We are receiving a huge response from parents, school authorities, civil societies, and community leaders to implement our project.
