National Advisor of GPHRF, Dr. Mizanur Rahman received a small WHO research grant on “Effects of maternal haemoglobin levels on mother and child health in different WHO regions of the world: a systematic review and meta-analysis”.
The aim of this project was to summarize of the evidence for the association between maternal haemoglobin concentrations and maternal and infant outcomes, evaluating associations between haemoglobin levels in a continuous manner, rather than just anaemia per se. This research also figured out the possible appropriate maternal haemoglobin cut-point for adverse birth outcomes. The report will be updated very soon.
Dr. Mizanur Rahman presented the research work at the head quarter of World Health Organization in Geneva.
